After the 'Eight Heroes' picture, I decided to go all out and illustrate/design a bunch of OCs I've had on the back burner for years. Some have been fleshed out, while others only have brief backstories. These particular eight are minor- or medium-importance characters in RWC who help Beni Masanari and her crew along the way. Male support OCs on the top row, females on the bottom, as follows:
Black: Leonid Masanari As if Beni's father wasn't enough, she also has an uncle that worries about her. Leonid is designed to be a modern samurai, so I gave him metal bionic arms to go with the sci-fi setting RWC takes place in. He was inspired from Soul Calibur's Mitsurugi, along with my own personal fascination of the samurai culture. The sideburns also come from Lupin's Zenigata, mirroring how Leonid is trying to bring Beni to justice much like how Zenigata is always chasing Lupin.
Blue: Archembo Hawkins Nothing interesting to say here. He's Arietid's twin brother, so I just made him look like his sister and slapped some random clothes on him. He's supposed to be the logical one of the two, but he often uses malapropisms, adding a touch of humor to his attempts at being smart.
Sand: Yukihada Saomaru Terumi's father, Saomaru is a nature lover as well as a military leader, though he doesn't see much battle. I designed him to resemble a mountain climber, and I was really pleased with how it turned out.
Mint: Turone Dedjra Turone is an exorcist and a former priest-in-training, but I didn't want to give him a religious motif. He's just a wandering lad looking for spirits to exorcise in exchange for lots of money, so I gave him a casual look. My friend always comments that he looks like Star Ocean 2's Claude, and I guess I borrowed plenty of elements from him.
Orange: Tinah Masanari Beni's mother, Caliben's wife, and Leonid's sister, who is deceased during RWC's current timeline. Since Beni doesn't look like Tinah, I had some freedom to mess around with her design, but I also had to remember that she's part of the Masanari family: they often have blue eyes and black hair, like her brother. I made Tinah an attractive woman who can use nunchakus in battle, and gave her the Alpha pendant that Beni now wears, sort of a connection between the mother and daughter that'll never meet. One of the biggest RWC mysteries is how Beni and Tinah would interact if they were ever together.
Yellow: Arietid Hawkins Archembo's twin sister, she's got a sunshine-y personality and dreams of being famous as a model, but is as ditzy, dim-witted and immature as teenagers come. I wasn't intentionally referencing Galaxy Fight's Roomi, but after comparing the two, they do resemble each other a lot. Arietid's bizarre shirt is shaped like an 'A' to signify that her name *will* become famous one day.
Magenta: Anri Sheol Darcy's mother and Grimm's wife, also deceased during the current timeline. She's very subservient and tolerates her husband's abusive behavior because she's afraid of refusing him. While Anri can't fight back, Darcy exacts his revenge against Grimm for watching his mother suffer. Her name and physical appearance obviously come from Shining Force's Anri, one of my favorite characters from my gaming childhood. Her outfit is a blend of La Pucelle's Prier and Alouette.
Lavendar: Minya Kleris My friend's character, which I slightly redesigned to suit RWC's style. Not much to say, since she already provided me with the basic outlines. I also changed the character's name so it sounded more like a *character* than a self-insert.
